5SOS talk riders, pre-show rituals and how to catch their eye from the crowd

Luke, Michael, Calum and Ashton are returning to Oz for their Rock Out With Your Socks Out Tour and it’s going to be epic! Being the fans (cough stalkers) we are, we’ve found out all you’ll need to know about the gig of the century.

Pre-show rituals
Before they get up on stage in front of screaming fans, what do the boys get up to? “We listen to a lot of music. It varies from a bit of Slipknot to Katy Perry,” says Calum. “It’s just whatever we feel and it depends on where we are in the world.” And, what else?

“We kinda just brush our teeth, I guess,” says Mikey. Yep, fair enough! If you’re an Ashton gal, you’ll be pleased to know he’s no diva and is his own stylist. “I usually cut up a shirt,” he reveals. “I like minimal clothes on stage because I get really sweaty so
I cut everything up to make it smaller.”

Lucky charms
The boys are quite superstitious and wear the same undies for each show (we hope they get washed, boys). Mikey rocks a pair of leopard lucky undies and Luke has some SpongeBob ones. “I’ve played some good shows in them,” says Luke.

If you’re in the crowd
Make sure you try to catch Mikey’s attention because he’d totally date one of his fans. “Fans are the same as a normal person, but they just like your band. It’s like a bonus,”
he says. Fingers crossed.

The rider of dreams
If the boys could have anything in their wildest dreams on their rider, what would it be? Let’s just say, they have pretty wild imaginations.
