There's an genuine way of complimenting someone, and then there's a sneaky, back-handed way to compliment someone that will leave them scratching their heads for a while.
Anna Kendrick and Zac Efron star alongside each other in the movie Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and surely, they get along well.
But, in Anna's new book, Scrappy Little Nobody she gives Zac a little shout-out that's kind of awful.
"I'm morbidly interested in Charles Manson. I've always wondered what is it about Manson that was so charismatic? Then I met Zac and was like, 'Oh, there it is,'" she says in the book.
If you're confused, Charles Manson is an infamous serial killer. See what we mean?
"I'm glad [Zac] hasn't asked me or anyone else to murder someone for him because I probably would," referencing how Manson led his followers to murder people in his name.
She's totally saying that Zac has a very powerful sense of charisma and charm, but q-u-e-s-t-i-o-n-a-b-l-e reference. Effective though.
