Remember when Beyoncé’s Lemonade dropped back in April and the internet went crazy trying to hunt down ‘Becky with the good hair’? Everyone from Rachel Roy to Rita Ora and Kris Jenner got caught up in the dramz, but the main writer of Sorry has now come forward and finally put the madness to rest.
Diana Gordon (AKA Wynter Gordon) told Entertainment Weekly that Bey’s famous line, supposedly directed towards Jay Z, ‘You better call Becky with the good hair’ was not actually about anyone in particular.
"The idea started in my mind but it's not mine anymore. It was very funny and amusing to me to watch it spread over the world,” Diana explained. "I laughed, like this is so silly. Where are we living? I was like, 'What day in age from that lyric do you get all of this information? Is it really telling you all that much, accusing people?'"
She went on to explain how Queen Bey reacted to the whole ~drama~.
"I saw her at her Formation tour. She had a pyjama party; we laughed, we danced, we hugged it out. But I didn't say much about it at the time because I wanted to give her space."
So that's that. Apparently there's no 'Becky with the good hair' and now we feel kinda jipped.
But let's be real. Nobody has better hair than Bey herself.
