Uh-oh, seems like our fave boyband 1D are under fire again – this time by singer Ed Sheeran on the Howard Stern Show.
The English crooner recently interviewed by Howard Stern spoke about his inspo behind the scathing track, Don’t. The song, which includes the lyrics, "That heart is so cold, all over my home", and "The way that things played out, when she was kissing him, how?" are rumoured to be about Brit singer Ellie Goulding’s secret rendezvous with 1D’s Niall Horan behind Ed’s back while they were dating. Juicy.
After months of speculation about a love triangle between Ed, Ellie Goulding and Niall, Howard asked Ed, "It was a dude from One Direction, right?" The star did his best to dodge answering the question, and responded with, "The papers say a lot of things. I have kept my mouth shut about everything."
Probing him for more details, Howard asked Ed whether he ever confronted the 'What Makes you Beautiful' singer about his shady behaviour. "It's a difficult conversation to have," Sheeran said. "He was my mate, so I was just a bit like, 'Umm, not cool.'" Hmm, we wonder where Ed’s partner in crime Harry Styles - who he shares matching bro tatts with - stands on this.
Ed, who’s now loved up with a new girlfriend said, “I got over it as soon as the song was done and the song happened pretty soon after.” We think, regardless of what happened, that at least a great song came out of it.
