Ladies and gentlemen, Directioners and Larry shippers, this is the moment that we’ve all been waiting for. We finally have concrete proof that our lord and saviour, Harry Edward Styles is about to drop his first solo album.
The news of the year comes direct from the CEO of Columbia Records, Rob Stringer who revealed that the baben’ One Direction member’s fiyah debut album is nearly here and we are in for a freaking treat!
“We’re close and we’re very excited,” Stringer told Billboard. “We have a record we’re incredibly excited about and it’s not far away from being ready. We obviously want everything to be beautifully done, because we think he’s here to stay. Harry has stepped up with the vision of someone who’s authentic.”
The high powered music man went on to explain that One Direction’s approach to pop music has srsly helped them to carve out their individual solo careers.
“They didn’t box themselves into a corner singing and dancing,” he said. “It didn’t have all the rules of the boy bands of the past where they’re too boy-next-door, too sickly sweet. They weren’t caricatures. And today, they’re making smart choices. It doesn’t surprise me that there’s is a different path and they’re doing pretty well. With One Direction, they became so big everywhere and from day one that their spread is much wider than other previous boy bands.”
Last year, Harry signed an $80 million dollar record deal with Columbia Records to produce not one, not two, but THREE albums.
So it looks like we’re about to get our first taste of solo Harry, with lots more to come.
Stringer didn’t provide us with an exact date for Harry’s album release, but it sounds like it’s not too far off!
Watch this space for Harry's next move.
