Jennifer Lawrence has been one busy lady lately. Between making movies, collecting awards and house-hunting with her beau Nicholas Hoult, we don’t know how she has time for anything. But word on the street is that she’s all set to take a break from the acting biz.
Before any J-Law fans start freaking out, let’s remember that it’s just a break – not early retirement. Film producer Harvey Weinstein revealed that Jen needs some time out after making a huge eight films in a year.
“She’s going to have a long break for a year where she won’t do anything. It’s been non-stop for her and she deserves a rest,” he told The Sun.
“Jennifer is too nice and will do people favours and agrees to do a movie like American Hustle when she could have had a rest. She signed on to do Hunger Games when she was young and wouldn’t have realised how much it would dominate her life. But she’s a professional and always will be.”
Well, we’re pretty stoked she signed on for The Hunger Games. Can you imagine Katniss Everdeen coming to life without her? Didn’t think so.
While she might be exhausted, we can’t fault her film choices. Between The Hunger Games, American Hustle, X-Men and Silver Linings Playbook, we think she’s doing alright.
Director David O’Russell, who worked with Jen in ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ also spilled the deets on how she scored her Oscar-winning role. It was all thanks to an interaction with a spider in the toilets, apparently…
“I asked her to cry and she made me cry,” Russell said. “She cried, so she went to get a tissue in the bathroom. She went, ‘Ah! There’s a gigantic spider in the bathroom!’ She imitated how the spider went when she tried to attack [it]. That fascinated me as much as anything else. She was unlike anybody I’d ever seen.”
