Remember way back in 2014 when Justin Bieber egged his neighbour’s house and made us all collectively roll our eyes into the back of our heads?
Well, his past errors are catching up with him as the begrudged Calabasas man is suing the absolute pants off the Biebz.
According to new court documents filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, Jeffrey Schwartz (Bieber’s neighbour) is dragging the singer’s legal peeps for trying to cap damages from his civil suit at $25,000.
Schwartz demanded the whopping sum as compensation for his family’s ”pain and suffering, emotional distress and property damage”, according to the documents obtained by PEOPLE.
The family man claims that Justin spit in his face in March 2013 when he asked him to drive slower in the neighbourhood and that Bieber continued to “threaten, harass, and intimate Plaintiffs.”
And mind you, this was all prior to the egging!
“Following the offensive and indecent attack on Mr. Schwartz, Bieber continued to harass, intimidate, and threaten the Schwartz family at every opportunity possible, which included yelling obscenities and threats at the Plaintiffs and their minor daughter, as well as making anti-Semitic statements to Plaintiff,” the documents allege.
Bieber was found guilty of misdemeanour vandalism following the egging, subsequently receiving two years’ probation and having to pay $89,000 in restitution for damages to Schwartz’s home.
Justin’s defense team have made multiple settlement offers to Schwartz in excess of $25,000, and estimates that the actual damages “exceed $1 million.”
Bright side? We can defs expect more Bieber albums in the future ‘cos that’s the only way he’s gonna be able to pay for his recklessness!
