If your dad was super-successful, singer-songwriter Phil Collins, you'd think he'd help you break into Hollywood, right? Well that definitely wasn't the case for Lily Collins.
Speaking to Glamour magazine Lily explained that she never asked her dad to help her get "accepted" into Hollywood.
"I always wanted to do it on my own," Lily explained. "I never wanted anyone making phone calls. A name can open doors, but there's a quote I like: 'Personality can open doors, but only character can keep them open.'"
Lily who stars in the upcoming film Stuck In Love alongside Jennifer Connelly, Greg Kinnear and Kirsten Bell says she had to fight really hard for her role in the rom-com.
"It's my most meaningful project so far," she said. "I fought for the role for seven months. I read the script and thought, 'No one but me can play this.' Samantha is promiscuous, cynical, sarcastic - qualities that are not me, but fun to channel."
