It was the totes emosh hit that slayed the charts, spawned hundreds of memes, and served as as a pretty rad Chrissy tree decoration, but Miley Cyrus has revealed that her infamous ’Wrecking Ball’ video is her biggest regret.
We prefer the term ‘iconic’, but we digress…
Speaking on The Zach Sang Show, the new-and-improved more subdued Miley played a game of ‘Eff, Marry Kill’ with her own songs.
“Marry would probably be The Climb because it still has a message I’m down with,” said Cyrus. “Eff would be 7 Things. Kill would be Wrecking Ball,” she said, adding,
“That’s something you can’t take away … swinging around naked on a wrecking ball lives forever. Once you do that in the mass that I did, it’s forever… I’m never living that down. I will always be the naked girl on a wrecking ball. No matter how much I just frolic with Emu, I’m always the naked girl on the wrecking ball … I should have thought how long that was going to have to follow me around.”
To be fair, there’s also the twerking fiasco at the VMAs, the crotch-grabbing phase, that stage where she only ever wore nipple pasties, and that time she ate a fans undies on stage…
Look, we could go on, but our point is that riding nekkid on a giant wrecking ball isn’t that big a deal in the grande scheme of things, tbh.
“That’s my worst nightmare is that being played at my funeral,” the ‘Malibu’ singer continued, “That’s my worst nightmare … is being like, ‘We’ll always remember Miley,’ and then that. ‘She was a great person.’”
