Rita Ora was supposed to perform at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards but her performance was mysteriously cancelled at the last minute – thanks to her ex-boyfriend, Calvin Harris.
So far, the split has been amicable. But that doesn’t mean they’ve been able to stay out of each other’s business. Mostly because Calvin was heavily involved in the song-writing and production of Rita’s upcoming second album. Including the single I Will Never Let You Down which she was supposed to perform at the event.
According to the Mail, it was Calvin who 'blocked' Rita from performing at the show in Hollywood over the weekend.
"She had spent a considerable amount of time and energy preparing for her now cancelled performance of the song and is devastated to let her fans down in this way," an insider told the paper. "It is surprising that he has made such a poor choice."
"This move by bitter Calvin has impacted not only the Teen Choice Award production but the teenage fans expecting to see her perform.
They added: "He's let the teens down."
While the split seemed fairly drama-free at first, this definitely adds insult to injury. Especially given Rita has opened up about how hard the split has been on her.
Rita revealed to Glamour that she's "not doing great" since her split from the DJ earlier this year.
"It's hard to have a relationship in this business" she said.
"We both work really hard, we're both all over the place. It was a wake-up call. I'm gonna tell you the truth... I'm not doing too great. But I'm doing better than I thought".
We wonder how Rita is doing after this stunt...
