Queen of Instagram, Selena Gomez, reveals the secret to taking Insta-worthy pics

Grabs notepad and pen

Now that Selena has officially taken over the title as the Queen of Insta, (being the most followed person on the site and having the most-liked pic) she’s been kind enough to offer up a few pointers so all us peasants can lift our Insta game.

^ The pic that broke Insta, and earnt Sel her crown.

Chatting with The Hollywood Reporter Selena’s first tip was keep it real.

"I'm not sure there's a method to my madness […] It comes in a moment when I capture something happening, and I go, 'Oh, that would be great for Instagram. I should post it,” she told the publication. In other words, sometimes forced/stages shots might not always be the way to go.

When it comes to captions, Sel’s all about using emojis in the caption box when the picture pretty much says it all.

Also, make use of Insta's 60-second video function to attract new followers. Sel was one of the first to give it a whirl when it was rolled out back in March and continues to upload new vids all the time, like this one at her July 4th party which has over 9.6 million views. Damn.

She likes to keep her feed a mix between selfies and BTS of her life coz a feed full of just your face ain't something people want to follow. "I try to find a good balance of just being 100 percent myself and knowing when to post a really good selfie with good lighting," she told the magazine.

And in terms of capturing the perfect pic, Sel's lucky enough to have a profesh photographer trailing around after her on her tour to capture shots like this:

Although she says these pics are all very spur of the moment (Sel was picking up food supplies for her tour bus and her photog happened to tag along inside) so really, if you're out and about with a friend and see an opp for a good pic, go for it and get them to take the pic and you may end up getting a whole lotta likes.

And that's all. Go forth and snap on.
