OMG. Selena Gomez is getting her own show on Netflix!

It’s based on a best-selling YA novel!

Two of your favourite things/people on earth are about collide.

Selena Gomez has announced that she’ll be taking on the role as executive producer for her new project coming to Netflix.

The best-selling novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, tells the story of a guy named Clay who has to deal with his crush, Hannah’s suicide. In the aftermath of her death, Clay finds a mysterious box from Hannah lying on his porch, which inside holds thirteen cassette tapes. On each of the tapes are the names of people that played a role in her death. Awkwardly, Clay is one of them.

Selena was originally set to star in the film adaptation of the novel, which sadly was a project that never saw the light of day. Since Selena loved the story so much, she pitched the idea to Netflix who instead decide to turn it into a 13 episode series.

The show’s official cast has yet to be announced, however award-winning playwright Brian Yorkey has confirmed that he’ll be bringing the series to life.

Fingers crossed Selena will jump in front of the camera as well!
