Taylor Swift's having a good week, isn't she? After winning EIGHT awards at the Billboard Music Awards and going public with her hot new boyf, she's now had another Very Exciting Thing happen.
She's only bloomin' gone and been named No.1 on Maxim Magazine's Top 100 list!
It's an annual chart made by men's mag Maxim, which usually ranks the world's famous women purely based on their hotness. Which, to be quite honest, kind of makes our skin crawl.
Luckily this year, they've seen the light and realised that women are more about just their pretty little faces.
Editor-In-Chief Kate Lanphear explained, “We’ve redefined hot this year. It’s not just about beauty, it’s about relevance and what’s exciting in the world today and no one personifies that more than Taylor."
Topically, the singer discusses feminism with the mag, explaining why she once said it "wasn't on her radar".
"I didn't see myself being held back until I was a woman," she admitted. "Or the double standards in headlines, the double standards in the way stories are told, the double standards in the way things are perceived.
"A man writing about his feelings from a vulnerable place is brave; a woman writing about her feelings from a vulnerable place is oversharing or whining. Misogyny is ingrained in people from the time they are born. So to me, feminism is probably the most important movement that you could embrace, because it's just basically another word for equality."
P.S. if you think you've seen that cover somewhere before, you're not losing your marbles, it was a pic taken from Taylor's "hello I'm a bronzed goddess now" shoot with Wonderland mag for their November/December 2014 issue (above).
Glad that's cleared up.
As you were.
