Word on the street is that Taylor Swift has penned more songs about her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal than any other guy she’s dated. Mostly because their breakup affected her the most.
We’ve always known that Taylor’s Red album had a lot to do with Jake but it turns out their relationship was a lot more than a fling with reports suggesting Tay wanted to marry him.
A source close to Taylor has told Radar Online that she had been “saving herself for marriage,” but loved him so much that after a couple of months of dating, things got pretty serious.
The source revealed: “She thought she was going to marry Jake, that’s how in love she was with him.”
However, following these events Jake reportedly blew Taylor off in a big way by failing to show up to her 21st birthday party without so much as a text message. Ouch!
“The day before - all was set - he was coming, no issues. But the day of, she doesn’t hear from him at all. No texts, no calls. Taylor thought maybe he was planning some sort of surprise. He didn’t show up and she locked herself in the bathroom and cried the entire night,” the source spilled.
Way to ruin her birthday celebrations, Jake. On the plus side, Taylor managed to pen some pretty great songs about the whole situation.
“Her breakup with Jake inspired every word of Red”, the source confirmed. “The song that specifically references this ‘event’ is The Moment I Knew.”
Look, the song does feature lyrics like, ‘You should’ve been there, Should’ve burst through the door...You said you’d be here’, while Taylor talks about waiting in her party dress, crying and hiding in the bathroom.
What do you guys think? Is this really how it all went down?
