With all of our fave shows either being renewed (aka Supernatural) or coming to an end (TVD, PLL, Teen Wolf), all eyes are on the shows with an unclear future like The Originals and of course, Scream Queens.
During the 2017 TCA Winter Press Tour, Fox execs Gary Newman and David Madden shed some light on the future of the show.
“It’s very much still in consideration for a renewal. The ratings don’t tell the whole story; because it’s such a young audience, you can’t really even see the full picture even in L+3,” David told Variety.
Gary added, “Like Pitch and The Exorcist, we’re not going to make any decisions until later this year. Obviously, we would have loved to have seen it do bigger numbers. The delayed viewing is there. It reaches a hard-to-reach younger audience, which we like, but we’re just going to have to see what our needs are when we get closer to May.”
The show’s second season has seen a higher viewership and has received more positive reviews with critics stating that it was an improvement on season 1.
But it looks like the future of the show has a big, fat ol’ question mark for the time being.
Fingers and toes, guys. Fingers and toes!
