The contraceptive pill can be a handy little thing.
Not only does it prevent unwanted pregnancy, but a new study conducted at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health recently discovered that some varieties of the oral contraception can prevent illnesses like the flu.
They tested the theory on a group of mice and it showed that an increase in the hormone progesterone significantly improves the functionality of the immune system. YAS!
Obviously, there are still further studies that need to be conducted to see if this will translate onto us humans, but it looks promising so far.
