Model, babe and Insta kween Amelia Zadro shares her style secrets

Get the lowdown on her biggest fashion regrets, OOTD tips and her go-to look.

By Meg Bellemore

A little bit about me: I grew up in Sydney and a little forest town in Belgium called Tervuren where I learnt to play the violin, speak a bit of French and eat lots of chocolate! I'm studying psychology and very interested in art and movement therapy. I hope to be able to link my work in fashion to psychology and more humanitarian and political projects in the near future. I’m also taking acting classes and an art and creativity class at uni, which I love. I am very excited about a few different paths at the moment.

In my room you’ll find: A little Alphonse Mucha print that I fell in love with in Tokyo, my watercolour paints, books, some crystals and some film and Polaroid photos of special memories.

The style move you regret making?: Ha-ha, there are a few. The chunky blonde highlights, dripping layers of lip gloss and plucked eyebrows I had when I was 13! I wish I had listened to Mum when she said "embrace your NATURAL beauty!", but I think it might be a phase we all have to go through at some point before we learn acceptance.

Your go-to comfy outfit for days spent shooting or travelling?: My loose, vintage Levi jeans, a t-shirt, a comfy hoodie or my soft leather jacket, boots or sneakers and some fine jewellery.

Who’s your fave style influencer? Alexa Chung for fashion and Audrey Tautou for her style and energy <3

Best fashion tip you’ve picked up while modelling? I've learnt to brush my eyebrows every morning - important stuff!

The fashion item you have way too many of but can’t possibly cull? Oh no! I have too many denim shorts, jeans, sneakers, dresses, tops - it’s becoming a space issue! But I try to buy vintages pieces as much as possible and have regular market stalls to pass on old loved items so they can be enjoyed by someone else. It's becoming more and more important to recycle with the growing waste in production from fast fashion companies. Check out the documentary 'The True Cost. It's worth watching before your next purchase.

Best thing you’ve ever bought?: A surprise gift for my friend Leela, she’s so kind and generous to others and her appreciation made it special.

Describe your style aesthetic in three words: Not quite three words, but three concepts. I like simple and classic looks, with a personal, unique twist. It’s always changing though because I like it to reflect how I feel on the day!

Four things you’ll find in my wardrobe are:
The accessory: My good friend Eilish Bouchier's fine, crystal jewellery is a very special favourite. Each piece has a crystal with different properties on a delicate silver chain. The idea is to choose a crystal with an intention that you want to attract whilst wearing it that day or week. They all come with a link to online meditations as well - such lovely creations.
The dress: A cute black slip can be dressed down with a tee and cons or dressed up with a jacket and pretty lip colour!
The pants: My new slim Pull&Bear high-waisted jeans with a raw hem are my favourites at the moment.
The bag: My little Chloé cross-body bag is a classic that goes with any outfit.
