Blogger Q&A: Emily Jane

At just 15, up-and-coming Australian fashionista Emily Jane has more than 2,500 on Instagram and a beautiful blog dedicated to all her favourite things. WE HEART HER.

When did you begin your blog and what made you decide to start one?
I started my first blog, CraftyGirl, in 2009 when I was 9 years old. My mum had a blog, and I read a few blogs, and I thought it looked like heaps of fun! I usually just wrote about my day, and any crafts I had been making. In 2013 when I became more interested in fashion blogging, I started my new blog, Emily Jane. Have you always had a passion for style and fashion?
I think I've always been interested in fashion, I used to love choosing my outfits when I was younger. Once I started blogging and reading other fashion blogs, I started to become more and more interested in fashion! My fashion used to be very different to everybody else, and I had a very unique style. Recently my style has become tad more 'mainstream', but I still love to have my own unique style and wear what I love. Do you also do a lot of your own photography?
For all my fashion posts, my mum takes my photos for me. I usually take all the other photos myself. How many followers do you have on your blog? Do fans contact you or ever give you feedback?
I have blog followers on lots of different platforms. Some follow me on bloglovin, some on Facebook, Instagram etc. I currently have over 500 followers on Bloglovin and close to 3000 followers on Instagram. On my blog posts I get comments from my readers, which are always so lovely. I also get emails from readers wanting to ask questions, interview me for their own blog, or just to chat.

What would you like to be when you grow up?
When I grow up I definitely want to be in the fashion industry. I really want to continue fashion blogging and grow my audience. I still haven't decided exactly what I want to do, whether it be fashion design, writing or styling but I'd love to try a bit of it all! Where are three of your favourite places to shop?
I have always loved shopping at second-hand stores, because you can find so many amazing pieces for such little prices! I love finding vintage pieces, and things that would usually be very expensive. I also love to shop at places like Myer and David Jones, because they stock lots of my favourite brands. My three favourite clothing brands are:
Hmm, it's so hard to pick just three! At the moment I am loving Cameo, Cotton On and Windsor Smith. What is the best item you have ever handmade?
About 2 years ago, I sat down for 3 days straight and made a crocheted cushion. It is called the Blooming Flower Cushion, and it has circle frills all over the front in rainbow colours. I'm really proud of it! Who are you inspired by?
I am very inspired by the How Two Live sisters. They have such a unique and fun style! They also travel the world with their blog, something I'd love to do when I'm older.
