Thought of the week:
Dear DOLLY InnerGirl,
I'm starting high school this year and I'm really nervous because last year my friends were being really nasty behind my back. It was all sorted out by the end of the year but I haven't heard from any of them over the summer holidays. One of them came over for my birthday because my mum invited her but I'm not sure if she actually wanted to come. What should I do? Georgia, 13

Think of high school as a new chance to reinvent yourself. Most people won’t know you yet, so you have a chance to put your best self out there.
Start school with a smile on your dial, and expect to make new friends! Expect to enjoy school. Expect to be at the right place at the right time. Expect to meet great teachers. Expect to do well in your grades. Expect this year to be the best of your life so far.
Let your old friends find their own way. Starting the new school year with this state of mind (and keeping it up all year), will change the way you see the world! Honest.
