One of your 'Scream Queen's' faves is leaving the show for good

This is an awful amount of #NOPE for a Friday.

Lea Michele to leave Scream Queens cast

Well, this is depressing. And totally not what we expected.

Unfortunately for every Lea Michele fan, you will not be seeing her in the new season - you know, if it even gets renewed - of Scream Queens.

Go on... let it out...

Instead, Lea has been cast in a new comedy that will be airing on ABC. The comedy is currently untitled, but will follow a city mayor. Hokay.

According to THR, the series will follow, "what happens when an outspoken, idealistic rapper Courtney runs for office as a publicity stunt. When he actually gets elected, he surprises everyone (including himself) when he has a natural knack for the job and slowly transforms city hall.”

Lea's role was originally planned to be Courtney's chief of staff, but the role is being modified to fit her.

It's also known that Scream Queens show-runner Ryan Murphy has released Lea from her deal to star in a potential third season of the show. So basically, R.I.P. Hester Ulrich.
