Toblerone has changed its shape and people are PISSED

Stop the madness.

There’s no easy way to say this but your fave airport treat Toblerone just got a MAJOR makeover and people are losing their sh-t.

The new design essentially removes a WHOLE lotta iconic triangle peaks from the bar, which now looks a little like this...

We know what you're thinking: BLASPHEMY.

According to the BBC the move was all a cost-saving measure which was apparently a result of increased ingredients prices, Toblerone explained in a post on their Facebook page.

“We carry these costs for as long as possible, but to ensure Toblerone remains on-shelf, is affordable and retains the triangular shape, we have had to reduce the weight of just two of our bars in the UK, from the wider range of available Toblerone products.”

The good slightly less bad news is that this change has only been confirmed for the UK so far, but we’re still not okay with it.

When the internet asked why they didn’t just bump up the price a little to preserve their iconic shape, Toblerone responded, "We chose to change the shape to keep the product affordable for our customers."

Peeps then made the very valid point that they could have just reduced the length of each bar and kept the shape the same? Good question. WHO KNOWS WHY THEY DIDN'T DO THAT.

Let's just cross our fingers, buy up all the Toblerone bars in sight and hope that this change doesn't come to Aus.
